Sustainable agricultural mechanization in the Nwoya District, Uganda

Weav conducted fieldwork to understand the opportunities and challenges of sustainable agricultural mechanization for smallholder farmers in the Nwoya District in Northern Uganda. This work was conducted in collaboration with the Northern Ugandan Agricultural Centre (NUAC); a Danish owned commercial farm, machine dealer and a central player operating in the Nwoya since 2010. Weav analysed the local context, mapped out the agricultural network structure and facilitated linkages to relevant actors for a sustainable agricultural transition. Weav provided NUAC with a report that displays systemic knowledge of local dynamics and industrial complexes in NUAC’s close surrounding environment in Nwoya. This can be used to guide the organizations work in Nwoya and reach out to partners for future collaboration.
